Tummo (a.k.a. g-Tummo) means "inner fire" and has been practiced by Tibetan yogis in the Himalayas for centuries. Harvard scientists studied the technique and found that the practitioners could raise their body temperatures by 17 degrees Fahrenheit and lower their metabolisms by 64% from rest. These individuals were also observed as they dried wet blankets by practicing Tummo in near-freezing temperatures. More recently, Wim Hof popularized a modified version of Tummo. However, the method hadn't been communicated in its original form to the West until Lama Yeshe wrote The Bliss of Inner Fire in 1998. How do you do Tummo Breathing? As shown in the video, there are three main components: 1. Visualization of an inner fire 2. Deep breathing 3.
